Taxidermy – A living art

Originally Fiona studied Fine Art at Central St Martins College of Art and Design BA Fine Art
and later went on to train Scottish taxidermist George Jamieson.  In Fiona’s careful hands, taxidermy far from being a dying art is alive and kicking (figuratively speaking).  Her pieces are deeply sensitive combining antiques and taxidermy in a sympathetic and beautiful way.  Her pieces combine humour and melancholy, created as small and beautifully composed still lives.  Now living in Edinburgh, her work features in both private and public collections and was recently shown at The Fine Art Society, Edinburgh.  Find Fiona’s work at https://www.fionadean.co.uk/
